In a statement issued by the State Department, at dawn, Washington declared that Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken would affirm, during his meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United States’ appreciation of the UAE’s role in hosting Afghan refugees.
Stressing that the UAE is an important partner for the United States, the later expressed its appreciation for the UAE’s critical role in supporting efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
The statement added that Minister Blinken and his Emirati counterpart, will discuss ways to address the economic crisis in Lebanon, and joint work to resolve the Syrian crisis politically. Blinken will also hold a tripartite meeting with his Emirati and Israeli counterparts to highlight the importance of the Abrahamic agreements, which according to the US, consolidate peace and stability in the Middle East.
The State Department pointed out that during the meeting, two tripartite working groups will be launched, comprising the United States, the UAE and Israel, the first on religious coexistence, and the second on water and energy issues, aiming at linking two important partners of the United States in the region, in order to discuss ways to solve the crises afflicting the region.
